This Minneapolis engagement session gave me ALL THE FEELS! It usually takes a few minutes for clients to get comfy in front of the camera, but not these two. I felt like it was my tenth time photographing them…

I mean… they nailed everything I asked them to do. And I love working with couples who will do anything I ask haha! Jon and Maria were up for all my crazy requests and directions.

So I went over our session time, and because Mpls was under a curfew, and all freeways were closed early, I had to take all back roads to get home… but so worth it when I look at these smiles and the beautiful pictures we got!

As I was walking around taking photos of these two love birds, I had a huge sense of “I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.” It felt so good to be directing shoots again and getting beautiful reactions and natural photos that represent them as a couple. Maria later texted to let me know Jon was singing my praises! Photos can be fun!!!

How They Met

Jon and Maria met because Maria chose to wear a mistletoe headband to a Christmas bar crawl… One of Jon’s friends’ saw her, and knew Jon had to meet her… They both got way more than a kiss out of the deal, and in September, they’ll say yes to a lifetime of mistletoe kisses!

How the Session Began…

And proof I was not lying about those first few photos… look at how natural and happy they look! Maria nailed it picking out the outfits… I got so many questions about her dress, so if you’re also wondering, it’s from Target!

I cannot wait to celebrate Jon and Maria’s wedding in September!!!
