Last April my fiance accepted a job in Phoenix, and we decided our relationship was strong enough for the long distance thing. We drove all the way from Minnesota, to Phoenix, with a car packed of his belongings. I flew back to Minnesota, and the next chapter of our lives began.
The long process of finding the perfect home was also challenging. At first we tried finding a multi-family home, knowing Phoenix was a temporary move, but ended up buying a big house, with a guesthouse instead. We shifted gears a little and the new plan was to put the house on Airbnb, and see how that went. Both my fiance and I like the idea of investment properties, and although we are both landlords in Minnesota, Airbnb was a completely new venture for us.
We closed on the house and I flew to Phoenix to get the house ready and furnished, as well as take pictures and figure out how to list on Airbnb! Thank goodness the listing part was pretty straight forward.
We love the house and how everything turned out! Our calendar is pretty booked through April, and the guests that have stayed have left amazing reviews!
One of my favorite parts is our dining room! I love the big table, and love knowing other people get to experience family gatherings around it!
The house is a short walk from Granada Park, tennis courts, hiking, the canal (bikers’ paradise!), as well as a 5 minute drive to the best Bruschetta and Wine deal at Postino, the best french macarons and breakfast at Essence Bakery, amazing crepes, golfing at Biltmore Golf Course… and so much more! Not only can you walk to Squaw Peak from our house, you can also see it from our front and backyard! If you’re ever in Phoenix, our house is the perfect house for you too!
“Spectacular Home & Great for lesiure or if you have a conference at the Waldorf Astoria Biltmore but want a chic/comfortable place for a few people to stay together. Very stylish and sparkling clean with thoughtful touches: a travel dental kit, mints, clearly fresh linens and plush towels. The wifi was speedy fast and shower was hot and with great water pressure. Basically felt like a multiple room suite at a 5 star hotel.”
“We loved our stay at Poly’s house! The space was clean and well-appointed, and the decor and furniture were stylish and modern. We had everything we needed, and there was ample space for our 6 person group. It was easy to find and get to, and was less than 15 minutes away from the airport. Poly gave us some great tips on places to hike, things to see, and where to eat. She answered all of our questions, and was super helpful with everything. We would definitely stay here again!”
