It’s funny how things have changed now that I’m a bride-to-be. I feel like my conversations are at least 85% wedding related, and I’m trying to learn as much as I can to be better for my clients. I had the idea, while having Margaritas at Betty Dangers, to ask my future and past brides some questions to hopefully help myself and future brides during the planning process. So I’m hoping to have a series of these “Wedding Talks” for the blog! 

Heather is one of my fabulous 2018 brides! We share a love for cats and ice cream, and a friendship has already developed between us. I honestly feel like I will not only be her wedding photographer, but also a friend at her wedding! She’s as sweet as pie, and I’m so thankful to have her in my life! Here’s “Wedding Talk” with Heather! 

1. When is the wedding, how many guests, what are the venues? 

The wedding is May 27th, 2018. We are inviting 200 guests to join us in Door County, Wisconsin. Our ceremony will be held at Boynton Chapel in Baileys Harbor and our reception will be at Mr. G’s Logan Creek Grille in Sturgeon Bay.

2. What has been the most stressful part of wedding planning? 

Decisions! My fiancé and I are awful at making decisions. We tend to go with the flow and love making others happy. Combined we have several parents, siblings, and close relatives and we would love to accommodate everyone, while still meeting our hopes and needs for the day.

3. What are you most excited for the wedding day? 

I am so excited to celebrate marrying my high school sweetheart in one of our favorite places. I cannot wait to have a weekend full of activities with so many loved ones who have made an impact on our lives and our relationship. There are a lot of little details we are planning that should make it a weekend to remember 🙂

4. Biggest tip you’d give to someone about to have their engagement session? 

Take a breath! The session is so much fun and goes by way too fast.

Location: Think about your favorite places, or places you visit frequently together.

Clothing: Splurge a little and pick out some new pieces, but also don’t wear anything you won’t feel comfortable in.

Props: Don’t go overboard. Just think of some things that you two like to do together. We had some ice cream!

5. Favorite thing about working with Poly? 

I don’t even know where to start! We worked with Poly first during our friends’ wedding. We knew after that day we needed to have her as our photographer as well.  Poly is thoughtful, organized, and fun loving. Her work is stunning and she takes the time to know you better as a couple. My favorite thing about Poly is that she goes above and beyond in everything she does.
