She loves to go shopping with her mom, so it’s no surprise she went to a few bridal boutiques before finding her wedding dress. She might have actually gone to ALL the boutiques in Chicago! However, it was here in Minneapolis that she said Yes to the Dress, at L’atelier!
The Bride and Groom
Dan and Browyn also met in Chicago, at a college party. Browyn being incredibly stubborn would not agree to go on an official date with Dan for several months. (She was focused on her super important summer job as head pastry chef of a neighborhood eatery that went out of business very quickly). So, Dan surprised Browyn with tickets to The Book of Mormon knowing a theatre major couldn’t possibly turn down an opportunity to see the musical of the year. Their first official date was a success. After the show they strolled through downtown Chicago and enjoyed each other’s company over a drink at Streeters Tavern, where a middle aged gentleman told Dan he should absolutely marry his date.
The wedding party was IMPRESSIVE! I even got to hear the groomsmen sing a couple of songs, and one of them was named Drew Hepburn, seriously best name! The girls were the sweetest friends I girl could ask for! At one point during the reception, one of them approached me to let me know she thought I was really doing a fabulous job :-). Way to make a photographer feel special!
The proposal
They decided to take a walk through Rosehill Cemetery, one of Browyn’s favorite places to stroll. They walked down the winding path admiring the architecture before finding a comfortable spot to sit. The stone couch. They enjoyed their cupcakes before Dan turned to Browyn and told her all the reasons he loved her. Browyn continued to joke until Dan said “stop talking, you’re going to ruin it.” Dan briefly reiterated his monologue and then got down on one knee and proposed. Once Browyn realized it was not a joke, asking several times “is this real?” she said yes!
The Ceremony
In true Catholic style, D+B got married at our beautiful Basilica of St. Mary!
The Reception
And then it was time to eat, drink fabulous wine, eat the best Buttercream cake, and dance the night away. D+B had the best dance moves, and once the bridal party joined for a group dance the crowed went wild!
D+B, thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding day! Cheers to YOU!
