I asked Jes about the timing of when she got pregnant. She had been married for so long, and wasn’t really trying to have babies, but it happened, and she said the timing was perfect. She never thought she’d be a mom, but now that she was, she couldn’t imagine a life more complete. The thing Andy is most proud of Jes? Her ability to take care of their daughter and be an amazing mom.
Jes asked me if I could take a few photos of her nursing E, so she could have photos to remember this special moment they share, and I have to say, it was truly an honor to get these photos for her. Breastfeeding is such a gift, and Jes says the bond she feels with E because of it is unlike anything else in life. She loves knowing it’s something only SHE can do with her daughter. She loves E’s little hand holding hers, and the way E looks at her.
They’ve made their home all about love. There’s Odie the pitbull (also known as goats and meats), Lucy, the black lab they often refer to as juice, the cute turtles who get super excited every time you come near their tank. At their house everybody gets attention and love, including visitors like me!
And Squirms? That’s E. Their beautiful daughter who’s not really a cuddler, she’d rather squirm herself out of hugs and squeezes. But she loves hard. She’s growing so fast with those big blue eyes and smile. She has us all wrapped up in her little fingers.
Jes shared with me she didn’t have hardly any family photos growing up, and she wanted E to have more than she did to look back to. I have a feeling E will love, and treasure these images….
