My very first photography client just recently posted photos of herself in a stunning emerald green dress. She was going to PROM! You guys, I started on this photography journey almost 18 years ago!!! And I don’t feel old, I just feel like I’ve learned so much through the years. Like when you forget the cheese, you get way better images!

And what do I mean by that? Parents are always asking their children so say “cheese” during photo shoots, and it makes me cringe! When you ask kids to say “cheese,” you get CHEESY smiles. That’s not what I want out of my work! I want my clients to look at their images and see their little’s personality shining through. Real smiles, expressions, twirls, hair flips…

So next time you come on over for a session (contact me and book one asap if you haven’t yet!), forget the cheese. Because when you forget the cheese, the unicorn comes out!

I know I always get lots of questions on outfits, so I’ll share that mom said she gets all her daughter’s clothes at Target :-). Like any of us needs an excuse to go there, right??
