Did you just get engaged? I totally remember being in your shoes. Being engaged really opened my eyes to so many of the struggles my couples, especially brides, go through, while planning their wedding. So I compiled a list of 3 things I wanted to share with my future brides:
1. Don’t Shop too early!
The moment I got engaged I joined a few facebook groups of people selling their wedding decor, I made a Pinterest board, I started shopping for all things centerpieces, and details…. Well let me tell you something, my engagement was 11 months in total, and I changed my mind on pretty much everything at least twice. If you’re a planner like me, this might be a hard advice, but, take a deep breath, and wait a little bit before going on a buying frenzy. Make sure you have a really clear vision of what you want your wedding day to look like, and wait as long as possible to purchase things. Deals will always come up!
2. Know that it’s ok to break rules
There are so many rules and traditions to follow when it comes to a wedding, and wedding etiquette, but since it’s YOUR wedding, feel free to break any rules you don’t think fit well with your style, or you and your fiance as a couple.
3. Find Vendors you Trust
I went into my wedding knowing that my team was the very best, and I could pretty much sit back, and truly enjoy my wedding day. From my wedding planner, to my florist, to my baker, to hiring the most amazing photographer I know, I had no worries and everything was perfect! I can’t recommend this enough.
Do you have any tips for ME? I would love to hear them, poly@polymendesphotography.com!
