One of my favorite couples EVER! Seb and Sheena met in Australia over nine years ago, and have been inseparable pretty much ever since. They actually flew me to Australia for their engagement session, and I got to spend an entire week with them, which is one of the reasons shooting their wedding felt like being at a friend’s wedding! They are the sweetest, most kind and thoughtful couple, and it was such an honor to be their photographer!
They planned their ENTIRE wedding all the way from Australia, and Sheena designed all the paper goods, and was the one in charge of getting everything printed. It was extra special to take photos of her details, knowing how much work she put into everything.
It was my first time shooting at Carlos Creek Winery, and I absolutely LOVED it! My husband and I arrived the day before to do a little scouting (and wine/beer tasting with delicious PIZZA!). The vineyard is so lovely, and the layout is beautiful. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine, because YUM!
Oh these two… It’s not hard to understand how they got so many friends to come to Alexandria from near, and VERY far! They are the kind of people who truly make a difference in the world. Sheena is a scientist, and currently researching a cure for cancer, and Sebastian has started multiple businesses, and shares his knowledge freely. While I was in Australia, he would wake up early to go to the market and get fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice (my fave), pastries, and make us all a big breakfast every morning. We would sit together, eat our breakfast, and talk for about an hour before they went to work. Quality time is my number one love language, so the fact that they made time to actually get to know me every day meant the world to me. They also took me to their favorite restaurants, and took time off work to go to the Koala Sanctuary together. I left Australia feeling like I gained two lifetime friends!
Sheena’s sister did her hair for the wedding, and one of her best friends, Priscilla, did her makeup! They both nailed it!
I couldn’t be more in love with how these images turned out! I’m so happy Seb and Sheena will have beautiful wedding pictures to remember their wedding day forever!
And the sweetest wedding party, but like I said, I’m not surprised S&S have such wonderful people in their lives!
I love the color palette, and the floral by Eldens Downtown Floral was so perfect!
I’m not sure I’ve ever posted so many ceremony photos, but this one is probably going down as one of my absolutely favorites! From the crystal chandelier, to the live music, to the beautiful forest-type vibe…
Sheena wore a stunning, custom made Mori Lee wedding dress she bought in Brisbane, and her veil was hand made as well.
The couple brought sand from their favorite places, and combined it for their “unity” ceremony.
They also decided to bring a little of the groom’s german heritage into the ceremony by cutting a log together. It symbolizes the hard work that is marriage, but that together, you can accomplish everything!
Sheena said part of her vows in German as well, which was incredibly sweet, specially since the groom’s parents did not speak English.
And just like that…. Mr and Mrs Sebastian Mill!!!
The sun did not come out, but we sure did, for sunset photos!
Sebastian and Sheena, thank you SO much for allowing me the privilege to be part of your wedding day! Thank you for your kindness and your friendship! Prost (cheers) to you and your marriage! Herzlichen Gluckwunsch zur Hochzeit! Alles Gute fur sure gemeinsame Zukunft!
The below photo, on the right, is my favorite photo of the ENTIRE wedding day.
