I arrived at the Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront Hotel about an hour before I had to start shooting. I wanted to scout the area since it was a rainy and cloudy day. I knew Kaylie was nervous about the rain, but I also knew with over 100 weddings under my belt, and quite a few rainy ones, her photos would be STUNNING!

THE BRIDE AND GROOM + THE WEDDING PARTY

Patrick and Kaylie have been one of my favorite couples ever to work with! They are both kind, driven, selfless, and the kind of people who really make a difference in the world. At one point, Patrick grew his hair out long enough that he could donate it to Locks of Love. Kaylie was asked during an interview for a high profile job, and at the age of 24, if there was anything in life she hadn’t done yet. Yes, they are both incredible people, and they found each other.

Their wedding party was AMAZING, super sweet, and made the day even more fun! I absolutely loved the color of the girls’ dresses, matching the groomsmen ties, and loved that Patrick’s Tie was print. Little details like that make all the difference!

CEREMONY

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Church of the Assumption, in St. Paul. My favorite part was seeing Patrick’s face, and tears, as Kaylie walked down the aisle. The ceremony and reception locations were very close to each to other, which is always helpful when thinking of logistics.

AND THEN THEY WERE MARRIED!

From a photographer’s point of view, I love the moment when the ceremony is over. Everybody relaxes, and it’s officially party time! I’m so happy the rain let off and we were able to take more photos outside! Oh, and that veil…

THE RECEPTION (AKA PARTY TIME)

There was no detail missed at K+P’s wedding. I also love that the corks used for the place cards were all done by the GROOM!!! Nice touch, P! I also love that the top layer of their wedding cake from Buttercream is gluten free!

Hey Rachel, I get dibs on your wedding :-). XO
