I always tell my brides how important it is to have a wedding planner. Up to this point my reasons were mostly from a photographer’s point of view. Now that I got to experience being a bride, and having a wedding planner, my list of reasons to have one has tripled, at least!

I had Kirsten, from Fab Event Design, as my wedding planner. I loved that she could do as much, or as little as I needed, and since I had worked with her on other weddings, I knew she was reliable, and knew she would make everything perfect for me.

I did also have a venue coordinator, and I just want to touch on this a little bit. I know some of my brides have opted to not hire a planner because they already have a venue coordinator. I can’t stress enough how different those two coordinators are. I had BOTH, and I must admit the coordinator I worked with at the Minneapolis Event Centers was amazing (Becca, you killed it!), but what she did for me was only a fraction of what Kirsten did.

I’m a very good planner, and thought I’d only need Kirsten for the day-of stuff, but quickly realized her knowledge and abilities were worth having her be a much bigger part of things. It would take me hours to figure out something she already knew, and she brought up many scenarios I hadn’t thought about.

Kirsten called me a few times to make sure I was on track with things, bringing up things as simple as the order in which the wedding party would walk down the aisle, and to what music; if I had arranged for a limo, since the wedding was also prom season, so limos might book up fast; She solved some bigger issues like the fact that I couldn’t use real rose petals at my venue, and didn’t want the flower girl to have fake flowers; She had one of her staff come to my house and collect EVERYTHING that needed to go to the venue, so I didn’t have to worry about anything; She took my idea of using my old books and vintage cameras as a center piece, and created a cohesive look for the reception (because I had about 20 different ideas of what I wanted to do for center pieces); She bought bulk greenery to enhance the look of the decor, and created the fabulous look of the head table… These are just a few things she did, that made my day even more perfect, because I didn’t have to worry about them, do them myself, or have a family member/friend have to worry about. At the end of the night her staff helped put gifts in the cars, and clear everything. I honestly couldn’t be more pleased, and more thankful to have had someone like Kirsten by my side!

I had the best wedding day a girl could have asked for. Looking back I still can’t get over just how perfect everything was. Having a wedding planner, and working with one of the best in the industry, allowed me to fully enjoy the day, and be present.

THANK YOU, KIRSTEN!!!
