I’ve always thought there was something magical about NYE weddings. The idea of a couple’s favorite people in on place, celebrating the end of an old year, and the start of a new one… AND the start of a lifetime together, it just seems like a perfect date for a wedding! When Brian and Kelsey contacted me about photographing their New Years Eve wedding I was thrilled! Kelsey was, by far, the easiest bride I’ve ever worked with, and B&K’s impeccable taste on all the details of the day left everybody speechless!

THE WEDDING VENUE

Imagine having a golf course all to yourself! That’s what Brian and Kelsey got for their wedding at Hazeltine Golf Course. A beautiful winter wedding, and a venue that otherwise would be full of people, but the season allowed for a private celebration for the couple and their families and friends!

A breathtaking dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and mom and sister to help her with the last few details of getting ready… (Remember the shoes Kelsey wore for the engagement session? Check it out here!)

THE FIRST LOOK

I guess it’s true that love will warm hearts… And I’ll just add that it warms bodies too! It was around 25 degrees out on December 31, but the wind was strong and it was very cold. Not pictured below is the amount of layers I was wearing, but B&K knew from the moment they hired me we would do photos outside, not matter what the weather was like. Although we got cold, and took breaks to warm up, Kelsey was all smiles… Such a perfect, sweet, and beautiful bride!

Black, white and golds were everywhere accenting the NYE theme for the wedding! How adorable are the “midnight kisses”?

WHAT YOU CAN’T ASK FOR: THE SUNSET

It was cold, but Brian and Kelsey had the most amazing sunset on their wedding day. So fitting too, because by the time we did bridal party photos, the sky had turned beautiful shades of purple, the couple’s favorite color!

THE WEDDING PARTY

What a fun group! B&K are so lucky to have these people in their lives! The bridesmaids were dresses in the couple’s favorite color, purple, and the furs just added the right elegance, and warmth for a winter wedding!

THE CEREMONY

She entered the room with a big smile on her face. How could she not, she was walking towards the man of her dreams, and so ready to say “I do.” By her side, the dad that will always be the first man to ever love her.

THE RECEPTION

More golds, glitter, wonderful food and a cake I will never forget! Brian and Kelsey sure know how to throw a party! Apparently the party didn’t end ’till way past midnight! What an amazing day, and what a way to start the new year! Congratulations!

And because you can’t have a New Year’s Wedding without sparklers…

This power couple is opening their business this month! If you are looking for a fantastic workout, check them out at the Maplewood location of Orangetheory
