One of my love languages is “Quality Time” so I was all over the idea of finishing this session with the family making banana bread together! And yes there were spills and a big mess at the end, but it’s so worth it to have moments like these with the ones you love, and I promise you this is what they will remember when they are older, all that quality time you had together!

This is my mom’s banana bread recipe which I’m hoping to make this week:

My Mom’s Banana Bread – Ingredients:

1 1/4 Cup of flour

1 Cup of Sugar (if you have brown super do 1/2 brown 1/2 regular)

1/2 TS of salt

1/2 TS of baking soda

1 1/2 TS of baking powder

1/3 Cup of oil

2 eggs beaten (by hand is fine)

3 very ripe mashed bananas

How to Prepare:

Lightly grease a loaf or cake pan. Mix all ingredients except for the baking powder and baking soda. When everything is mixed well mix in the baking powder and baking soda lightly then pour your mixture into the pan. Turn the oven on (no need to preheat) at about 350 degrees and let bake for 45 minutes. Check with a toothpick by sticking the center of the bread with it and if it comes out clean it’s done, otherwise keep another 5-10 min. That’s it! My mom recommends waiting until it’s no longer hot than using a knife all around the edges make sure the bread will come out nicely, then putting it on a nice serving platter!

*** The W family recommends putting chocolate chips as well! I can’t wait to try that!***
