I yelled “I have a vision” as I reached for her hand and started running across the gravel road towards the field of tall grass. I didn’t stop her as she knelt down to collect flowers she would soon gift to her grandmother. Then I asked her to walk closer to the grass, and she did, then turned around. The clouds were there, the wind was blowing. She looked at the flowers. Then magic happened.

She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up (so do I), her favorite animals are the bear, the crocodile, and the shark!!! This girl and her family have become friends to me. When they decided to move to Florida it broke my heart a little, but thankfully, they still have family in Minnesota so I still get to see them! I’m so proud of E as she is becoming her own little person, full of ideas and a wonderful personality.  I can’t wait to visit her at the beach and make sand castles!!!
